"lmao it has AT LEAST 3 tracks to skip, 4-5 if you include the Vert II. The One, The Sweep, Disharmonia, O R O, and the Vicarious remix."

No Vert II, only Vertikal. And you are skipping the interludes... They are fine, they give continuity to the album and build the atmosphere.

"I can understand you may feel like skipping the t/t and We Feel the End (not enuff growls for me) but it's overall better than Vertikal in consistency."

Lay your head to rest, T/T and The fall are 2.5 tracks. Too much to resist a comparison with Vertikal.

Isis have amazing tracks but their albums are far from 5 or 4.5.

hard disagree I guess. there are times where this does remind me of Vertikal with the keys not gonna lie, but someone said this was more muscular and that's where it wins me over than Vertikal. some days I skip Vicarious Redemption also cuz it's too long and the longer pieces here are more rewarding. Vertikal's pacing is weird too, me wanting to skip the short uninteresting interludes (even if they introduce the motifs around the album) makes me want to listen to it whole less.

By CoL's standards, Vertikal is like a slightly insecure cyberpunk dude who hits the gym hard, whereas this is a weathered but aesthetic af cliffface on a supermountain
