Yeah, I don’t understand how Crown Candy even got made. Good God lol. Sounds like a group full of drunk buddies trying to do karaoke on penny beer night
Also, yeah, my rating still stands. I get that people don’t understand why I dislike this album so much, but I also have a hard time finding what anyone finds redeeming. I still can’t finish 3 songs: Lich Prince, GameShark, and Crown Candy. Like legit so bad that they make me rage.
There are others that I can finish, but I still hate like Heartbeats, Five Cups, Trapped in Dillard’s.
There are good songs with major downsides, such as the opener. I really have to either grit my teeth to get through the first half for an orgasmic outro, or just slide the timer forward to about halfway and just skip the first half altogether.
There are two legit amazing tracks with Nearer My God and Slapstick, which, I’m amazed were able to be formed considering the rest of the slop here. Lambert was also alright, even if a little boring. I’ll give this album 3 great tracks.
Yeah, really haven’t changed my stance even after about 5-6 years without listening to this.

Still quite interested for the new one though, hoping it can reverse the trend.

Rowan's review for this album is actually what made me appreciate the album. Right off the bat, I didn't really understand the apocalyptic undertones, so a lot of the frantic-ness just felt hapazard to me rather than intentional. And I didn't even link the "Nearer My God To Thee" sample at the end of Gameshark to the Titanic, or the CNN Doomsday Tape, which I literally didn't know existed. Basically, it gave me every bit of context I needed to understand what Foxing was doing. But, if I'm being honest, it's a fairly typical Rowan W.
