This didn't grow on me as much as I thought it would but still a solid effort. They need to do something different next time.

They need to do some more heavy stuff honestly. The best songs here are the heavier ones.

An album of Hearts/Wires would be sex

An album of Doomed User will be brutal.

I still think this album is sublime. You have to be in the mood for it

Hearts/Wires, Xenon, and Phantom Bride are some of the best they've ever done

Xenon and Phantom Bride are two of the most uninspired songs they have ever done.

I must confess; I barely remember most of the songs on this album and I've listened to it quite a few times

It breaks my heart tbh

I am drunk and I am going to admit in front of all of you that I don't think this album actually deserves a 3.5 and I never have

but I still won't change it and only because I'm holding on to something that's wrong

the only one i can't really "recall on command" is Xenon, but i mean, it's not a bad track when i'm listening to it or anything

also, when i saw these guys in Houston shortly before Gore was coming out, they only played the two songs from it that had been released by then (Prayers & Doomed User,) which made sense

however, for the past however-many shows following the album's release, they have been playing no more than two songs per set from this record despite it being a tour for the damn album; what the fuck?

I remember when I saw Less Than Jake back in like '07, it was after In With the Out Crowd (one of their worst albums) had come out.

Before they played any songs from it, they said something along the lines of "We're only playing these songs because our record label said we have to!" It was an album they churned out purely to fulfill their contract, I guess. They didn't like most of the work from it.

I don't get that vibe with this album, but I wonder why they aren't playing more songs from it?

i don't know, my immediate reaction after seeing the setlist was that they were just shameless crowd-pleasers, but maybe it was part of the whole "keep stephen in the band" thing, provided he still felt at all about the album like he did during that interview
