"Don't compare hip hop to metalcore in any shape, form, or fashion. I'm sure you mean well, but you're coming across as a dumbass. Just tryna help out"

They're both music, except one employs far more musical elements, and is more musically interesting. It's not apples to oranges. There's no reason hip-hop can't make greater use of time and key, polyrhythms, dynamics, structural diversity, vocal diversity, consonance and dissonance, melody and harmony, etc. etc. without sacrificing any of its identity.

It relies almost solely on lyrics and thumps.

Yeah I'm pretty entertained by the attempts the discredit me without addressing anything I'm actually saying with any sort of evidence. Except that "poisoning the well" is fallacious reasoning.

Look, more poisoning the well.

"Ire Works" is the only post-"Miss Machine" album that isn't like, a 4.5 or better.

music isn't measured by how many time signatures or polyrhythms are employed. do you listen to music for how it sounds, or how 'musically interesting' it is?

a gybe-style hip hop could be cool, if done right i think

but it would take a great artist to make it work
