"As of March 23, 2015 the album is the highest scoring album of the year on Metacritic, both in terms of Metascore and user score. Additionally, the album has surpassed OutKast's Stankonia (95/100) as the highest-rated rap album on the entire website and is tied for 2nd all-time amongst all albums (tied-1st amongst all studio albums on the site)." Holy shit

comparing this to any Outkast album is a joke.

Metacritic is just desperate to review something and call it the next big thing cuz music has generally sucked recently.

yet virtually all of your 5s aren't from this generation...

are they?

Let's look at them

Bon Iver For Emma, Forever Ago

Foals Total Life Forever

Godspeed You! Black Emperor Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven

Jakob Solace

Jakob Sines

The National Boxer

The Roots undun

There Will Be Fireworks The Dark, Dark Bright

Oh wow. 8 5's from this generation. 21 5's in general. I think you're just grasping at straws to keep your completely oversimplified narrative intact.

There aren't as many 5's these days but there are more 4's than ever before and I am really okay with this.

Really though, in what way is this album radically different or better than past rap albums to be considered the next big thing? All the good things I've heard from this album aren't really anything new or intriguing.
