yo extreme metal (especially DM) really snapped this year out of nowhere. Felt like I haven't been especially excited about anything for a lot of this year and then I get new Thou, Cultes Des Ghoules, Horrendous, Obliteration, Zealotry, Phrenelith, Acherontas, and a buncha other shit all in the back half.
