I don't think that's Verm, no.

Well about 99% of their fanbase is going to be crying "sell outs" for the next few years.

Oh Good. It'll be just like how Against Me! sold out every time they made a new album after Reinventing Axl Rose

"I don't care what direction they choose to go in. It's their decision. Doesn't mean i have to like it. And i do not like heavy one bit"
That's totally fine. What isn't fine is people saying "I don't like pop music = LP sold out".
"Check the Hunting Party thread. Someone is butthurt.:
? Butthurt about what, people having a different opinion to me? I just said it's totally fine to not like the new song, hell I even just said I thought it was alright at best. I'm not exactly proclaiming it's greatness. It's not the style I would've gone for but I'm not impartial to some pop music. They can do what they want and I respect them for it.

I wasn't talking about you, haha. I was more talking about the guy that was calling them garbage sellouts.

new song is bland but inoffensive, I've heard way worse
band has been on a steady decline ever since this album, frankly not expecting them to ever top this, w/e

Haven't actually heard the new single yet, but it must be absolutely horrible if even Verm hates it.

I'm in the minority in that I think THP was a trashy attempt at regaining their old fans and a hollow, lazy record to boot, but then again I only listened to it like twice, and that was years ago, so I reserve the right to change my opinion if I ever give it another go
LT was the awkward transition record in between with just as bland and inoffensive pop stuff and a couple harder experiments that didn't really work
I guess I just feel like as kind of cheesy as their old nu-metal stuff was (and how by-the-books MtM was,) those were at least somewhat authentic, and that authenticity reached an actually impressive musical pinnacle on ATS. Ever since then, not only has the songwriting become less adventurous, it also feels like their passion has coasted on autopilot

I do enjoy the records post ATS but yea they haven't really made anything as good as this since, if the studio vids indicated the making of this record was super stressful, but I think it paid of. I think LP is best is when they completely let loose/throw caution at the wind. I don't care if it's not heavy, if it's experimental-I think it usually pays of for them.

I've enjoyed every LP album thus far. I was actually shocked at how bad Heavy was.

will totally admit I do enjoy Heavy for the most part though it def. is lacking a bit, could be my biased towards the sentiment with this band. I'm hoping that in the context of the album it'll play better.

I actually just got to Blackout but I've put it on repeat. One of my favorite songs by the band, that ending is powerful

Blackout is amazing. And every track beside The Messenger is close to perfection imho. I just wish the album ended with The Catalyst as it'd make for the best LP closer.
