it does feel like it took the heavy music scene a decade to catch up to what these boys and TDEP were cookin. there were obviously other great chaotic hardcore bands from the late 90's/early aughts, just none that were up to snuff with either band. seems like the clones really came along in the 2010s.

i've thoroughly enjoyed many of their clones over the years, but deathwishcore is becoming progressively more tiresome, no matter how much chops it takes to play the music. metallic hxc is in dire straits.
i actually have that Calvaiire record on vinyl, i really dug on it when it came out. a quality clone, but yeah, "French Converge" was the selling point for me, knew what to expect and it mostly delivered.
