The only supergroup album I can think of that actually exceeded any of the band members respective material.

That I totally agree with.

Phil is also so much better here than on literally every Pantera record.

I wish Phil was more prolific, his voice around the mid 90s to early

2000s was probably my favourite of all time - the right amount of extreme metal screaming/growling with that deep southern drawl.

Treadmill is almost on par with this

I would sacrifice my sister for another Pantera or down album in the late 90s era

Name me a better riff than the main one in Bury Me in Smoke...I'll wait.

It was somehow fitting that they could never replicate the unique awesomeness of this album

The best part about it is that it feels so effortless too like they threw it together over a few afternoons while they were getting high and hanging out in some bayou

With a lot of other albums you get the sense that the band had to meticulously create it over painstaking months of years and they were hardly enjoying it

Completely agree Eph. They could never replicate these vibes.

I was actually referring to other bands in general, I don't know anything that sounds as effortless as this, maybe welcome to sky valley. I guess the southern bluesy riffs lend themselves to that vibe.

But also yeah this is by far DOWNs best work.

also I just realised Phil has a new album out with El Minor

It confuses me greatly that the guy was in Pants-tera. Utterly bewildering.

That's ok Ben, but I can't figure out what riff that is. I guess maybe hail the leaf?
