I’ve spun this several more times, still just not my cup of tea. Cool they dropped the title track late though, got me thinking about the album enough to spin again, good marketing

For me it’s scratching an itch I didn’t know I had. When I’m in the mood I gotta have this

The sound may not be that innovative but I'm yet to hear a band that does every aspect so well

So many parts of this just live in my head all day

Interesting, one of my biggest qualms with this is that I don’t find it leaving much impression at all. Just comes and goes

so catchy [3] album lives in my head even when i havent jammed it in a while
think both this band and erra have done really remarkable jobs on each of their most recent lps at keeping their instrumental intricacies in place and most importantly the extreme dynamic swings in either direction while applying them to *slightly* more streamlined song structures instead of just stapling parts together in a way thats not really sacrificing much of their general appeal in order to do so

I still prefer the Stillworld era but this is WAY better than Greyview, so I'm just happy we're going in a better direction.
New song is solid, also technically not a b-side, actually a new track. Common misconception

yeah ill always prefer everchagner/stillworld (as i do impulse/augment) but i think the slight alterations this band made were very necessary since greyview, while a killer album, does feel like a transitionary and doesnt really accomplish anything that isn't done better by the surrounding releases on either side of it

sorry, Greyview sucked. I'll probably never revisit it again. I chock that one up to rough growing pains.

this album isn't in my rotation anymore but it was a huge improvement. The vox hit so much harder than on Greyview

tbf i only really jam these bands whenever concerts/new releases come up now but this is still probably one of the first 3 core albums (if not the number 1 go to) id throw on if i wanted to reach for that sound

I'd reach for Impulse by Erra over this. If I wanted this type of metal

i have listened to such a comically unreasonable amount of erra in my lifetime (see: https://www.last.fm/user/illusivetomas/library/music/ERRA) that ive tried be a bit more sparing w them to preserve their specialness lmao where this still has that new sheen to it to a degree but yeah impulse is absolutely unreal. that was my favorite album ever made for like 3 years
