Idk man Seahawks receiver core is pretty insane. Metcalf/Lockett/Smith-Njigba will likely help Geno flash even more.
I also have the Seahawks winning the NFC West so….

Geno showed signs of getting figured out in the second half of the season, I definitely fear that he will have a rough season. To Vult's point, that WR room is am embarrassment of riches, so he definitely has the tools to succeed if he's able to be at least mediocre.
And okay, let's do way-too-early division winner predictions, ready gooooooooo

alright here are my far too early predictions for the season. these are, of course, subject to change as the offseason progresses:
AFC
Jets
Jags
Bengals (unless lamar can stay healthy for an entire season in which case the ravens just might take it)
Chiefs
NFC
Eagles
49ers
Lions
Saints I guess, although none of the options are particularly appealing lol

So tbh I think my picks are dead-on in-line with vult besides maybe two deviations. Bills are an easy pick, Bengals should absolutely be the de facto victors of the AFC North until proven otherwise, AFC South is 75% heavy rebuilding teams and Jags are the 25%, Chiefs are the Chiefs.
Mana on that Aaron Rodgers train... given how this NFL thread started from its very humble beginnings, I'm surprised to see that lol

NFC:
North - The Goffense(tm) / Chicago / Dreams of Jordan Love / Minnesota don'tcha kno
South - Saints / Panthers / Atlanta Titans / Pyrates (Command the crew! Rule the seas!)
East - Jalen Hurts can squat 600+ lbs / New York Big Bois / This is Our Year / Commies
West - Seabirds / Brock Purdy's hopefully-mended elbow / Rams / Retirement Home

First of all Mars your team names made me giggle
Second the question that was posed to me was who I thought would win the division, not who I WANTED to win or who would progress past the first round of the playoffs.
As much as I don’t like Aaron Rodgers in the slightest, he is undeniably a good qb. And if that team could make Mike White and Joe Flacco look good at times… I’m just saying it’s highly possible they could steal the division.
Also how are y’all picking the hawks over the niners? Qb situation?

tbh vult reminded me how stacked that WR corps is, and they've got an emerging RB talent in KWIII to back it up. An ideally beefed-up defense could push them over the edge. A lot of that will indeed hinge on Smith remaining a capable starter, but I feel like talent at that level finds a way to succeed.
I don't think Purdy had his chance to get exposed yet whereas Geno did, so I'm basically gambling on Smith having grown and Purdy maybe not getting figured out yet. Which isn't to say his run was a fluke, but tape was still relatively limited. We'll see! The Shanaplan is deadly when in action, but I'm leaning towards Pete bouncing back.

While the 49ers are a great team that will likely make the playoffs regardless, I think at this moment the Seahawks are a more complete team. SF has Deebo and McCaffery and Kittle, but I think the Seahawks offense is somehow more well rounded. Also I trust Pete Carroll more to coach up his team than Shanahan, tbh.
The East / West divisions are going to be insane this year. Those divisions are going to be so cutthroat.

NFC West you mean? I don't think it'll be too deadly, Ras are a shell of a team and Arizona is Arizona.
Speaking of Arizona... DHop has been released. He's on the market.

Hell yeah! I remember when this thread first started, thanks Mara and Manatea for keeping it alive!
I cannot believe the Cardinals couldn’t find a trade partner for DHop. Absolute poverty franchise, and that’s saying something coming from a Jaguars fan. That team is so fucked, this year they are going to be the worst team and who’s to say Kyler is even the guy at this point. Might as well try to trade him when he’s healthy and go for one of the top QBs in 2024.
Thing is, they’re running out of teams to potential trade with for Murray. The average QB in the league right now is far better than it was even 3 years ago, there’s only like 3 teams that might need a QB for next year (TEN, ATL, possibly MIN??)

Must have been a contract thing, I'm not aware of the details but he was getting paid pretty well. Maybe nobody wanted to swallow the cost given his age and possible injury concerns. Regardless, dumping him without getting ANY return for a team desperately in need of talent is... very Arizona of Arizona lol. Fans are pissed.
Murray is close to impossible to move after that extension, and I don't think anybody outside of the Cardinals thinks he's worth that money. They'd have to eat a lot of his money to get any team to bite.

Yeah they could probably make an okay deal trading him to the buccs if they eat some of the contract
