He didn't elaborate, just said he wasn't feeling well and went to the ER that day. They cut the set short by a couple songs but the dude was giving it his all.

"so I realized that the biggest thing holding me back from loving this is the production. I guess cause their name is Static Dress they had to make their vocals and guitars sound like static also? Some good melodies in here tho I’m gonna keep cracking at it"
The production was a point of contention for me initially but it eventually clicked well. I do wish I could hear some of Olli's vocals better but they're going for a more raw, analog type of sound and I can see the vision.

yall can’t handle a bit of noise?

Glad I’m not the only one who was slightly bothered by it @LightAndGlass. Hopefully it grows on me too. I do like noise when it’s organic, less so when it’s a production trick applied after recording.
I’ll say the first song FUCKS hard but my interest starts to wane after like track 3

I'm just glad you're coming around to this artbox
Thought the resident SYSC stan would be all over this so that rating surprised me lol

it surprised me too. i think this is a classic case of going into something with skewed expectations and then being confused when those expectations don’t line up. it’s hard to unwire those first impressions though.

Both bands are homaging (spelling?) the same era but I just liked SYSC's sound more. But this is getting better on subsequent listens

This just has riffs on riffs on riffs. And Olli is so much better than any of those old scene vocalists that I’ve heard at least. Idk, I was never really into that stuff so I was so shocked when I first heard this and I dug it so much. I’m kinda hesitant to say that they’re my favorite current band since we only have the one record and some singles to go off of but if they even come close to this with their next LP…

Which sucks because two of those bands are terrible and they managed to outlast the one good one

The last bastion of modern emocore right here, and I'll be damned if the industry even needs another.
Shame about SYSC tho :[ so are they done now that Connie left or what

I like to pretend Ronnie Radke dropped that first escape the fate album and then retired from music entirely.

Escape the Fate's first EP is actually incredible. Dragging Dead Bodies is an eternal banger
DIYLF is a solid debut album too, the highlights are sky high but it does have plenty of filler. And the rest of their stuff can go right in the bin, along with all of Falling in Reverse's bullsh- I mean music.
