that you can't rate this album below a 2 is bullshit. this is NOT a good album, it's a 1.5 at best. songs are incredibly boring and dickenson's voice is godawful. 1.5 true rating fuck off with your no

Ah, number of the beast- where do I start?

10 years older than myself, but still (in my opinion) bang up to date. The first album to feature Bruce, and the last to feature Clive Burr- every genre has a defining band, for metal it is Maiden; Every band has a defining album, for Maiden it is Number of the beast; Every album has a Defining song, For Number of the beast, it is Hallowed be thy name.

This is not just a metal album, this is THE metal album. Whenever I listen to this album, I get shivers- If you do not have this album yet, BUY IT, that's right, BUY IT WITH MONEY. Downloading this album for free will not cut it, BUY THE 1998 REMASTERED EDITION CD, it's worth 20 times its weight in saffron, yet you can buy it for somewhere in the reigion of 6-15 (you do the conversion).

Best song: Hallowed be thy name

Worst song: To say there's a worst song on this album would be blasphemy.

40 years ago, on September 26, 1981, Bruce joined Maiden.

I was mesmerized after one listen, many years ago. Very few albums have had that impact on me.

This is THE quintessential heavy metal album.

One of their best songs.

It's mostly the chorus I see people have issues with but it's fine and the verses are among Bruce's highlights so they're wrong.

They feel that way because of one word sung in the chorus, which happens to be the title of the song. It's my least favorite part of the song as well, but my goodness the other 99% carries it.

Would love to see them open a show with it.

Yeah I don't care much for its chorus either but the rest of the song is too good to care.

22 Acacia Avenue is likely my favorite here next to Hallowed.

Yeah I don't have the opinion of this that most people do, but it's a cornerstone of metal whether or I not I think it's warranted.

Every step that helped Maiden to create the best heavy album of all times (Seventh son of a seventh son) is awesome.
