Changing of Times was a step in the right direction but I still only see that as a 3. Too much of it is not well developed altho the intro track slaps hard.

COT is rad as fuck. A Message For Adrienne, Angel Below, Alone In December, and When The Sun Sleeps all slap

There's good moments in all of that album but often they went a little underdeveloped. They're Only Chasing Safety is basically what they wanted The Changing of Times to be, but I guess they didn't have enough time to develop TCOT to be as well done as TOCS, altho the latter didn't age particularly well imo.

TOCS aged very well. But we all know your opinions are wack Deathbat.
@Source, agreed.
|

tcot actually has plenty of riffs that wouldn't have sounded out of place on cotp

@Kenbo: lmao ok, Spencer trying to copy Dallas is one of its biggest flaws, it ends up sounding mega grating after a while. It does hold a couple of my favorite songs of theirs but as an album it really wore off on me. Used to be my favorite of the Spencer era, now it's probably my least favorite of said era. But nice arrogance yet again, anything that disagrees with you is wack.

I’m just thankful I have overpowering nostalgia for it

Honestly nostalgia seems to be the driving force behind a lot of this era. Hawthorne Heights being a major example of that.

Idk check the average for any Hawthorne Heights album lol

I wouldn't consider Sputnik's average law with them tbh, I just know plenty of people who would hear Ohio Is for Lovers and want to break out the fucking eyeliner.
Same with Welcome to the Black Parade but that's another story lol.

Sputnik averages are the one and only law

In that case I guess nobody heralds The Black Parade as a classic due to its 3.5 average.

I love the first two HH records but they haven't aged well. TOCS has aged really well and is far better than any HH album lol.
Also @Deathbat how can TOCS be your least favorite Spencer album when this crap exists?

"In that case I guess nobody heralds The Black Parade as a classic due to its 3.5 average."
correct

I love the black parade

Because "this crap" exists. You literally answered your own question Kenbo.
TOCS' main downfall is its vocals. Aaron sounding more annoying than in the two records after (it's a lot easier to tune him out on DTGL and LITSOS too) plus Spencer doing a bad Dallas Taylor impression. In other words, a bad impression of an already less than adequate vocalist for the sound they were going for on that record.
