Still not entirely sure about Million Masks of God (I like, just not sure how much yet), but it's made me realize that this one is a classic

It's a grower. But not close to this, I put off listening to this again for so long but I've embraced it again and I'm glad I did. Close to giving it the ultimate score

And yeah Million Masks of God is a solid 3.5/4, but this and some other MO albums easily trump it.

I still has album cover as phone wallpaper and when people see it, most of them is asking why i have a hanging guy on wallpaper because they cant see the hand holding a tree branch lol

Admittedly I too thought it was a man hanging limp on a tree

Also this is definitely better than I remember. I feel nothing will hit me on the same level as Like a Virgin but I greatly appreciate how Manchester Orchestra continue to increase their dynamics

the cover art was shocking to me when I saw what was going on, because the way I interpret it, it's like... you cut all the branches going up and then you are left there with nowhere else to go... No branches further up to hold yourr weight, no way down... But it's you who's cut the ties, as the scissors falling imply.

Am I the only one that's always had something against the production of this album?

thanks, @benkim. I discussed this cover with my psychologist in '17, and funny thing is I hadn't given much attention to the music yet. I told her my interpretation, and that's when I decided that some of the shitstorm in my life I can control
