Honestly I’m at the point where you could say any of their records (including Irony) are their best and I wouldn’t argue.
Prob the most consistent discog in all of rock music.

And I really don’t think that’s hyperbole. I mean shit, here all of their records avg a 4 or over aside from Ire Works… and that’s my favorite one lol

Dimitri, Mike, or Greg era doesn't matter. It all slaps.
Yeah never understood why Ire Works was always rated so low compared to the others. Probably bc it's their most accessible

Yeah and the pinned review is a 2, so I’m sure there’s some old ass accounts that just rated it low based on that.
And honestly I’m not sure if I’d call it their most accessible, I think that goes to One of Us is the Killer. Sure you’ve got Black Bubblegum, which feels like it was made for radio (doesn’t matter, amazing song), and Milk Lizard, but you also have all these weird little glitchy tracks and interludes to go along with the tracks that melt your face like you’d expect from Dillinger. And it closes with a 7 minute like electro-jazz epic. I’m so glad they played that track when I saw them on the last tour.
God I love that record. It took time to grow on me but the last couple of years it’s been pretty much my clear favorite.

'Ire Works' is my favourite too. And no, not their most accessible...stuff that came after would definitely qualify more for that.
"Yeah and the pinned review is a 2, so I’m sure there’s some old ass accounts that just rated it low based on that."
Yes, absolutely. Herd mentality.

I used to not be hot on Ire Works but came around on a recent revisit. Shit was awesome and sadly overlooked cuz of this album imo

^ You saw that DEP list on the front page, right? Here's the guy's basic-ass take on Ire Works:
"They threw a bunch of weird noises in there and it felt weird"
THAT was the initial reaction (hence it being "overlooked").
Band known for musically pushing envelope, pushes envelope. Fans unhappy.

That list and its reasoning is so bad lol. I think me being 15 and not loving Black Bubblegum as a single at the time tainted my view personally. It was my least favorite for so long but now I realize I was a fool!

My 20 year reunion is literally tomorrow.
It's weird, but I'm far more annoyed that I feel compelled to go than I am about being old.

Had to bump this to 4.5. Some of their best songs here for sure.
