Ahhh the compilation is interesting cos it takes liberties with the order. To me it it is almost geared up to be a faux dj set for people who already know the music. Street halo and kindred EPs are elite but they got shunted to the back a bit

Yeah, I got the sense from the way it flows that it's sort of an official playlist. The main thing is that it is just a whole lot of stuff to hear at once, but the front end of the album is starting to make more sense now. I might jam some of those ep's sometime just to speed the process up though. Just got to put down Chemz/Dolphins and Anitdawn for a few seconds first lol.

The compilation is structured backward chronologically which I think was a smart way of doing it. The divisive moody ambient gets the benefit of front placement and the "devolution" into the arguably-best bits (CD 2 as a standalone disc is possibly his finest hour) underscores how rich those most basic of components always were ("NYC" to close the damn thing!).
