Fun is definitely not a word I would use to describe this album lol

But it really is great. It takes alt rock and industrial and fuses them in a way that's both accessible and innovative.

The Fragile really took it to the next level, of course, incorporating tons of different genres in a seamless and cohesive way. But this is still amazing.

Honestly I'd enjoy this more had my brother not overplayed the hell out of this with me around. He went through a huge NIN kick and now I'm very indifferent towards Trent Reznor

Like obviously this is going to suck if you go into it thinking of it as an industrial album. It's really not. It's influenced by the genre but at the core this is more based in alternative rock.

I actually enjoy The Fragile a lot more. Has enough variation to keep itself from going stale imo

I prefer TDS to the fragile. I think the fragile has a lot of amazing material, but would be better off without quite a few tracks. However, there's only one song I'd ever consider removing from TDS (big man with a gun) and i still think it serves its purpose perfectly, even if i never listen to it out of context.

Agreed hard. I love The Fragile. It's one of my favourite albums of all time, though I still think this is awesome.

You would think. But some people like to think they know everything about industrial when really all they've heard is NIN, Marilyn Manson and Rammstein.

Have you seen the userbase's picks for "best industrial"?
Hint: this was the top pick.

Haha yep. It's also pretty sad when you see the "best electronic" albums and half of them are metal

Industrial rock/Industrial metal is still industrial, duh.

But the emphasis isn't on industrial. The industrial aspect is simply an influence. It's still mostly rock or metal at heart.
