Its an ok album, I don't think it is their best work, but they know how to make a single that just fucking drives you so damn crazy. Good Review.....American Idiot seems like a rushed single. I dunno, but when listening to it, it seems as if they made it in a day.

I disagree with former points: This is some of the best stuff Green Day has EVER written and shouldnt be shunted because it made them mega-stars

Ummm personally I think you're a little off.

The album is satisfactory, its got some good tunes and beats and whatnot, the outline of it and how it all comes together is good, but it most definitely is not one of Green Day's greatest albums.

To start with, about 70% of the album is taken from others; I'm all in favor of taking an idea from a band to start them off, but the key is you have to make it yours; that's not what happened here. It is evident that waayyyy too much ripping off was done here, from Bryan Adams, Sex Pistols, Oasis (Boulevard of Broken Dreams can suck my cock), and The Who (the whole outline was taken from Tommy).

Don't get me wrong, I'll listen to this album and some of the stuff I think is very well done; but by far it is not one of their best or even an amazing piece of work.

When I first got this album it was awsome, untill everyone came down with "American idiot fever". All my friends played it constantly for about a month, but if this didnt happen the album - luvin it! However, I still way prefer the old Greenday stuff dont ask me why it just sounds a hole lot better 2 me!

This is a great album and i encourage everyone who likes rock to buy it. It is a very personal album for the band especially "Wake ME Up When September Ends" and that Billie Joe talked about his fathers death in september and how it is a sad month for him. This album is still not as good as their album Dookie
Ps. whoever said Green Day sucks does not know what rock is, or is a F!!kin retard

I thought this album was pretty lame. I guess i just miss the old Green Day when the music was heavy and i could relate to the lyrics. I'm sick of all the poser nerd kids running around my school thinking their cool with their american idiot shirst on.

i need to say something about this i am sorry, i dont think that it is a bed cd i just think that ALL of their other are a lot better. It seems like they went soft or something. I just think that Nimrod was a much better album. also i know its not their fault but they have gotten a lilttle bit too mainstream, they just played a stadium last week in manchester(NH) and i swear every little 12 year-old with their parent was there. I mist admit it was an encredible show tho

Man this is a great Cd but. . . trust me if you like real punk instead go get thier older stuff such as Slappy Hours... this Cd was just to big of a change, it was what they needed, but I love thier old stuff.... But there are some awsome bass parts in this Cd..... I love the bass line on St. Jimmy, and its also cool how they did the story and bashed bush all on the same cd = )

also i think it deserved a higher rating than what you gave it seeing how its revolutionized rock since it hit stores, I love how much insparation Billy took from the Joshua Tree, a great U2 Cd. . .
