i'd love a modern take that's in the same vein as the original song but with vocals less "normal" lol

Rare, but if there's one band that could pull off a metal ballad it's these guys

it really is wild how much more modern this sounds than DNB, which only came out a little more than a year and a half prior. its like you can almost hear the era's of metal music switch over from album to album.

So pumped to hear a new album from them
This is probably my favourite album of theirs. Such great songwriting and musicianship

This has been the biggest grower of their discog for me. I always wrote it off because of the Simon and Garfunkel cover which I never enjoyed, and subsequent listens to the full album always put it near the bottom of Nevermore's discog. But I've been listening to it a ton during deployment, and now it's climbing up the ranks pretty rapidly... The River Dragon Has Come and Engines of Hate might just be two of the best Nevermore songs in general tbh. I know I've said this before, but these guys really had one of the most insane album streaks in metal... almost up there with Death in that regard

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Especially from a production/mixing standpoint

The cover song is absolutely genius. Way better than that Disturbed garbage

This one was always a mixed bag for me. Some songs are awesome, but some songs only parts of them are cool. Like the title track it always felt like they wrote it up to the first chorus and then ehhh good enough cobble together the rest of it.

Narcosynthesis was the first song I ever heard by Nevermore and instantly fell in love. Album doesn't get old. Prime Jeff had one of the gnarliest, most powerful guitar tones ever.
