"I know I know. It’s just a difficult band to plow through everything quickly like that, and digest it, give them multiple listens etc. I’m def late to the party with this band."
I'm the same way, man. It's taken me like 20 years to fully digest their discography lol. I tend to like to listen to an album a half dozen or so times before settling on a rating.

Not counting Halo they basically have the perfect discography.

I think Halo rules. I'd take it over Bloodmoon

"just wanna throw heaven in her arms, phoenix in flight and grim heart/black rose in the convo
eve is personal fav and concubine was the first verge song i heard so lots of nostalgia there"
Dawg I can't believe I forgot about Eve. Phoenix and Grim Heart are up there too. Also would include Murk and Marrow and Dusk in Us. Also Thaw and Distance and Meaning.

I would never even attempt to rank their songs, it changes every time I hear one for the first time in a while. Like “DAMN I forgot how hard this track goes”
I can’t even think of a single song that I think is outright bad or even mid, unless we’re counting like, the Gravel EP or some shit

Distance and Meaning is so underrated, absolutely love that track. Hell to Pay has also risen in my ranks since seeing them play it live. Gravel has some jams but it sounds nothing like "traditional" Converge so I think it's unfair to compare em. I'm a slut for NYHC worship though

Yeah D&M is an S tier track for me.
"I would never even attempt to rank their songs, it changes every time I hear one for the first time in a while. Like “DAMN I forgot how hard this track goes”"
Yeah it would be a hard undertaking. I think if you ranked EVERY Converge songs there would be a large chunk of them that are interchangeable in the list, but maybe reducing it to like a top 20.

Some of Ballou's most inventive guitarwork on WFCC, for sure.

Now, the truly important question is:
When playing the albums back to back, should the order be
HOH -> LINE
OR
LINE -> HOH
for maximum impact and enjoyment?
I'm currently investigating...

"Agreed with everyone's picks but I am surprised Conduit and Saddest Day haven't been shouted. Homewrecker is also such a banger"
Yep, I usually include the former two. Homewrecker helped get me into them so that holds a special place in my heart also. Something about the repetition and the sheer ferocity / relentlessness really hammered it home for me. Easy to appreciate once you become accustomed to the 'fuck, this is heavy' lol.
gonna assume someone mentioned Thaw and I missed it. I've seen most of my other faves ref'd.
I'll add a Locust Reign shout as a deeeeeeeper cut.

My favourite Converge song is probably Hell to Pay. But man, they have so many great songs. Too many to mention.

In terms of consistency of quality, no other band matches them.
