It just sounds so predictable and boring. You can tell there's talent, but between the uninteresting guttural-sounding guitars and the redundant wafer-thin lyrics, there was nothing on this thing that grabbed my attention.

I feel like In Flames already made this album a couple times

I dont hear nothing "black metal" on this album, but it still rocks

The lyrics are so hilariously milquetoast. Honestly, I've coaxed better lyrics out of google gemini for a laugh than this.

This is not bad at all. Nice post-metallic alt metal. But i get that some might be dissapointed.

Don’t agree at all with general reception of this album. The hysteria “ *** this album, *** this band” is a bit sad

Sellouts are generally frowned upon, yes

This isnt a dogshit album, people are deflating* its quality. Its a perfectly fine and safe album from a band that had potential for more interesting music than this. The only issue its just dull metalcore we have seen before
Edit: meant its being taken out od proportion a bit

No-one’s inflating its quality on this site - it’s been slammed

haven't listened to this yet but just on the surface i find it wild that (and this is coming from someone who does indeed enjoy black metal) a band deviating from black metal is seen as a bad thing when frankly that sound can certainly blend together and sound uncreative after X amount of songs or years doing it - it's like the pinnacle of repetitiveness lol even though i still love it

Bumped back to a 3 as hellbound and submerged are ear worms and it does give me nostalgic vibes

Hellbound rules. Get rid of the crappy pianos and soft section on submerged and I’m there with you

Danoo it's not that a bm band deviating from bm is bad thing, but like, they went straight up mallcore here. I wouldn't change my rating if I knew nothing about the band's history. This is Hot Topic music for teenagers just getting into heavy music. The only salt in the wound is that it came from a band that knows better and chose not to.
