I've legit jammed this at least five times a day since I first heard it. Don't remember the last time I was so obsessed with a new album.

That's awesome! Seeing the love for this is definitely pushing me to go back to it again sooner than later.

Yep, quality band. I have their debut at 4.5/5 with the two follow ups 4/5 each. I need a few more listens to this latest one

Another spin has landed me right where I thought it would rating-wise. But I did figure out what's missing for me: it's the drums. As I went through the album I found myself waiting for the drums to bring me down to earth from the lovely, airy, poppy gaze sections into something heavier--but it never happened. The pop elements are the dominating factor in this record, which is fine, but doesn't catch my ear like it obviously does for others.
I listened to Deafheaven's LPWP right after because I think it's a fair comparison, and it's night and day. The drumming on LPWP is intense, varied, and really swings the feeling of each song around so well. This album just doesn't do that as well, in my opinion. I wanted some blast beats but never got them!

It sucks because the production here is absolutely perfect, whereas the production on the first album is not very good, and is only just "good" on the second album.
If those two albums had this production they'd be 4.5/5s for me.

Yeah that’s my biggest gripe with this so far too. I don’t get sleep token from the cleans, more Envy than anything, but I still don’t know if I like the juxtaposition
