I think tons of bands stuff nowadays is horrible and then I remember I’m not 16 anymore and probably not the target market lmfao.
But cmon we dads want gear too!

There are no misses, only growers.
Glad to see Diamond getting love, that was an early standout for me.

Satellite was extremely impressive for sure. Easy standout even from the first listen. I'm not sure about the diamond as a whole, but the breakdown is so damn tasty that it makes up for the whole song

100% joshie. Was literally just thinking the same thing. It might yet surpass EB for me because it's just so super consistent and I really like the maturity. I NEED them to tour Australia ffs

Technicolor Blues is the only miss for me so far. Love everything else about this record.

Satellite in Love has me in a choke hold
|

Technicolor Blues is currently my favorite on this tbh. As a whole I'm digging this album more than the last EP and album. Also the opening riff on Cemetery Sun goes hard AF

this is very fun! my one big complaint is that i wish it had more of an edge. needs moar bounce riffs and breakdowns. burn a miracle had a good balance. love the twang. gets kind of predictable with the hooks, wish there was a bit more variety. very dependent on them. but luckily almost all of them are excellent so i don't really mind too much. guys got some pipes, sounds even better than on stereo grief. couple duds, namely night in october. intro to technicolor was sweet but the rest is eh.
really love diamond to diamond, cemetery sun, burn a miracle, where the light leaves us and shatter and burst. hell of a closing duo. i'll keep coming back to this for a bit. sucker for massive hooks. fun stuff.

Pretty strongly disagree with those criticisms futures. Kinda felt the same initially but after repeated listen now, I feel it checks all those boxes. We pretty much have the same favourites though, but Id throw in moving car and satellite. So, basically half the album lol

I think your opinion and mine overlap a lot on this, Futures. It's a great album, don't get me wrong, but it just feels like something is missing creatively.

Oh and yeah, agree with people's comments on the merch. It's funny, cos their album art is sweet but merch kinda shit. Same with the Daoboys actually. Would love a shirt with this album cover on it

i do enjoy this record, but i miss the sheer rage that the previous records had and some of the cleaner parts aren't nearly as memorable as they were in the past. solid record tho

maybe i voiced it a bit too harshly hooper lol. i very much enjoy this album a lot. for me when the hooks are so huge some songs entirely fall flat if the hook does. but like i said they mostly nail it. a bit riff lacking for me as well. first listen was a little jarring but repeats have held up well and i even like it a bit better. think i just kept waiting for something super heavy lol
def with ya sowing, but this is about as good as you can do really polished hooky metalcore. i am kind of surprised in that aspect how much love this is getting here, it's very commercial. but i like that! most usually don't.
