I feel the same way for the opposite reason about Sunbather. I'll trade you bumping this avg rating down for bumping Sunbather up by the same notches.

I think this might be their worst produced record cause I really love their 'empty' production. But this record with that same production would be something completely different, not in a good way I think.

yeah it is. this is mostly living up to the hype and might be their best. the songwriting is so much more engaging than most of their previous stuff. a lot of their last 2 albums kinda felt like failed-ish experiments at switching up their sound, but they really nailed it here as far as combining all the different aspects of their sound in an exciting way

This might not be as good as Sunbather but it's not far off, in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if upon further listens it could actually grow and be better than it. I can easily see people liking this more than Sunbather and saying it's their best and for me, easily their 2nd best.

I don’t think it will dethrone Sunbather for me but it’s very easily their second best for me. It took me maybe a listen and a half to start thinking that. It’s immediately more enjoyable than most of their other records and I’ve been spinning it all weekend and still think that.

We’ll see how I feel in a month but I don’t think that will change.
