there was a lot of classic rock/metal that he played. i'd say about 70% of it stuck (90s Megadeth, Metallica up to Black Album, and White Zombie in particular) but the 30% of it that didn't (GnR and Kiss being primary examples, and eventually AC/DC and Pantera wore off) I grew to really be annoyed by.
