They’ll be in my town in a couple weeks. I’m just worried that I’ll be wishing I was seeing DEP or ETID the whole time.

You'll have a great time. I saw them last October and had similar worries but they absolutely killed it.

Better Lovers are Better Lovers. No need to compare them. They rip live. End of discussion.

It’s gonna be hard to not compare them to Dillinger… and it’s literally fucking impossible to stop the ETID comparisons, I love the record and can’t wait to see them live in a couple of weeks, but this band still gives me “side project” vibes. I really hope they meant it when Jordan/Greg (can’t remember which, maybe both) said they were in it for the long haul.

I really don't get side project vibes at all from this. Dillinger seems dead and buried as is ETID. Greg will have his solo side but other than (maybe) Putney this feels like the main project for everyone involved. Seeing these guys live really cements that for me. They seem to really love playing together.

I never saw ETID live but I saw DEP a bunch of times and they were on point every time.
Greg is definitely a great frontman - his energy and stage presence with DEP, as well as the other members was explosive.

Saw them in Denver a week or two ago. Spy was such a caricature of hardcore music that I laughed multiple times during their set. Full of Hell was decent but I got nothing from their set.
Better Lovers completely destroyed though. Greg's singing sucked during "At All Times" but besides that Buckley, Mirrichi, and Williams proved that they're some of the tightest riff makes out there, and Greg still is a complete monster of a front man.

lol did the spy singer do the caveman stomp around stage. they made me laugh too, fun though but kinda boring

Yeah, Spy might have been one of the first opening acts I've ever seen at a show where I was actually shocked they were on a national tour. I normally feel like the audience gives a band a little love, even if they're only half listening, but no one clapped or cheered in between their "songs".

Spy rules, you guys are nerds
