I still don't vibe with it a whole lot, but Wild Guess and Yr Money, My Summer are still bops

My favourite trick Jon pulls is when he announces an album to have a big, overarching concept and it ends up being more obfuscation of how sad he is.

Reanimator concept: it's an album about the bicameral mind!
Reanimator reality: I wish someone else could live my life for me so I don't have to.
Raw Data Feel concept: it's an album exploring the relationship between humans and technology, the lyrics were written by AI.
Raw Data Feel reality: I've been through a massively traumatic event and couldn't bear to be seen writing about it, so I pretended the lyrics were written by AI (it was less than 10% in the end).
Mountainhead concept: it's about a society of people who paradoxically believe growth can be achieved by means which ultimately harm them and trap them further (welcome to post-Brexit Britain).
Mountainhead reality: I feel like I've lost connection with everyone around me, I just don't want to think about it. I'm getting older and with each passing year I worry I'm going to be forgotten. How did I turn out like this?

What was the event that Raw Data Feel was written following?

Jon alluded to it in interviews following RDF and when discussing The Witness. It does sound like an abusive situation but I don't want to speculate or anything.
Any time Jon writes in character it's fair to assume he's also writing about himself, which makes Jennifer hit even harder.

Forgot how good this actually is. Canary is a wonderful track. Enter The Mirror is indie pop perfection. Tempted to bump my rating of this, but there's just a couple of slower songs that kinda drag it down a bit.

I've revisited it fairly consistently since it came out, there isn't a dull moment for me. I especially love the last run of tracks, EE always have fantastic closers.
You catching them in later this year for the GTH anniversary tour?

So tempted to y'know, only saw them once but I was a tad too pissed and just remember sweating to death from all the dancing lol. Would be good to see them properly (unless being pissed and dancing is proper I dunno haha)

Pissed, dancing and sweating is a great way to see EE, as long as you can remember it lol. They're a force to be reckoned with live.

I'd be surprised if they didn't announce something. Then again, the Manchester show will be the one to go to I reckon.

Can't get enough of this album lately. Feels like a grey rainy summers day kinda album for me. Specifically reminds me of foggy Welsh green hills and mountains.

This works best for me in late spring and early autumn, bright but not overbearing with a hint of melancholy
