Songwriting here is far stronger than on Abyss, so much more focused and fleshed out.

I like Abyss more but this for sure feels more focused. It doesn’t have a song or two that I think is like substantially weaker than the rest, which I think happens with a few of her records.

The second half of Pain is Beauty rules, Sick through The Waves Have Come is goddess-tier

Jess is amazing all around tbh, I love the more primal sounding beats on Unseen World.

Never liked her music but I see that she has talent. The singles were great, I will check this out for sure.

According to the info from the promo, this album was supposed to be as heavy as Hiss Spun or more in the line of her doom stuff, but Sitek reworked the songs with her and stripped them of "the rock".

I really love the variety of music across the album. Songs like Whispers, Liminal, Nightshade, Unseen World, Place In The Sun all sound so distinct. And I’m glad they didn’t totally do away with all of the heaviness; the end of Whispers is one of my favourite moments in a CF song

The end of tunnels in the video where she lifts her arms in that flamenco pose like she's sprouting from the mountain... holy shit man.
