Decided to bump this as well after numerous listens, it keeps getting better and better. Good time to be a Tesseract fan.

"I’d be shocked if you enjoy this, MO"
I was a huge fan of their really early stuff with the original singer. the vocals aren't the most enjoyable for me but the instrumentation is solid

This is going to start as a 4 for me, but will probably rise to a 4.5 by the end of the week. There are so many massive moments in this and the production is stellar. I didn't anticipate it, but this is already in the running to be my AOTY.

I so want to use this thread as a vehicle for me to gush about Night Verses, since Jesus Christ it's so good, but for Tesseract:
Dan is off the rails on this one and I really like it. I'm in the minority that thinks Altered State is the band's worst album and while I like Ashe and think he's talented, Dan is the voice of Tesseract for me. I'm a huge simp for him and love every band I've heard him in. White Moth Black Butterfly is god-tier, I loved his solo record (the reworked one, not the weird triphop one), and Skyharbor got way less interesting to me when he left. He's probably in my top 3 singers and was definitely the standout on this album to me.

skyharbor died when he left unfort yea. that last album was so boring

the vocals on this really turned me off. I just don't get Dan's appeal. his delivery was cringeworthy at times. instrumentally its as interesting as any Tesseract album but I def won't be going back to this

^This for me. Dan shines on other projects imo

I just think his vocals are really emotive and carry a lot of weight, though I can see the criticism that he can over-enunciate or exaggerate sometimes. I guess I just like that kind of thing, unless it's Sleep Token.

A well-written review that encompasses both the album itself and the band's progression towards a more evolved sound. This album is overwhelmingly good, emotional, and sometimes dark, showcasing how TesseracT, the production, and the technical aspects of the music composition are in a whole different tier of their own far surpassing Sonder, without diminishing it.

Legion's vocal performance is absolute madness. Props to Daniel, dude absolutely refuses to mail it in, and he absolutely could have.

Dude I was listening to "Sacrifice" while mowing the lawn and was still getting choked up. I don't know if it's being a new father or what but this album's themes really resonated with me.
