Nah, plenty of bands change their sound. I agree that if most of your members change AND the sound changes, then the remainder may consider rebranding at that point (so this band could be a example of that), but artists have certainly gone through more dramatic changes in sound than Cryptopsy have.
I mean, do you expect Ulver to have changed their name every time they do something different? Because that's a lot of project names, lol

Yeah but at launch people were saying the exact same thing about the s/t in general, and now it's seen as being pretty mediocre. I wouldn't say either suck, but neither really hit that hard for me either.
