huh so that other guy didn't work out?
My nostalgia for these guys is so strong that I'd be fine with even a new vocalist entirely on new recorded material, as long as they don't change the sound too much.

New song is garbo. Stephen is THE reason Anberlin had such a unique sound. Zero reason to continue as Anberlin if the soul's been ripped out.

Credit to this Matty Mullins guy. He tries but his pop-punk style of singing has no warmth. Considering that they have to layer a lot of the chorus with gang vocals just shows they're missing a lot of the richness that Stephen brought.

they're doing an album, oh my god

really wish stephen recorded with them. the new song is fine but it's lacking what makes these guys them

like, circa did this (minus the matty mullins) with two dreams but i feel like that made sense with how they were tying it together. i feel like we added 1 + 2 (+ matty mullins) and got fish with the branding but...whatever lol. i dont think i could take a whole NEW anberlin album with matty mullins so yeah

Gentlemen, it is with great sorrow that I announce the new song is indeed shite. His voice is just too plain and missing the tone/affectations that make Stephen's so special. Hard act to follow.

Haven't bothered with the new song yet but I... am not impressed with the reordered tracklist. How the hell does putting Circles as the third song or Two Graves later in the album make any sense

I'll still buy the Vega album if there's get a physical release for it unlike the EPs, but just splicing the two EP's together as is will still be better tracklisting-wise

God the new song is beyond bland. Sounds like modern ADTR ugh. The difference Stephen makes has never been more apparent.

I thought maybe the instrumentals would carry but they got blandified too.

And putting Two Graves anywhere other than track 1 is baffling

New song blows and the tracklist is all over the place. I thought they'd be releasing a brand new batch of songs and not just merging the EP's the worst way possible, and then throw in a couple of songs with Matty.

Disappointed to say the least.

But like… just don’t reunite? Or do it under a different moniker? I don’t know. Like if you wanna make music do it. But don’t ride your previous success label or whatever. It’s annoying to me I don’t know
