I think their formula has played out. It was unique 10 years ago, but they haven't changed anything since then and this doesn't sound any different from any of their previous releases to me. I'm not trying to detract from anyone's enjoyment of the album, I'm just sharing what stands out to me on the album. My immersion in the music of this album gets broken every time the violin dischordantly and shrilly comes out of nowhere.

Not a specific direction per se, but I really feel like once, twice, thrice, and then four times, the same thing more or less, it becomes redundant. I mean, sometime they should try doing something new, whatever that is. They are too young in their career to stop shaking things up.



When experimentation repeats itself in the same vein, then it becomes a formula. I mean, even DT didn't become formulaic until like, what, their 7th or 8th album.
