'is it really that much more than the music industry average? I'll honestly just take your word for it'
no idea but if it is more common than the average but if it is its probably because pop-punk/warped tour core/that whole general scene attracts a lot of teenagers.
always creeped me out how pop punk dudes in their 20s-40s dress like teenagers

"always creeped me out how pop punk dudes in their 20s-40s dress like teenagers"
In relative terms, it's a fairly new genre of music (definitive manifestation '90s/early 2000s), so the youthful bands and their visual/audio signifiers are wrapped up in an ostensibly youthful appearance, whilst these real-life aging mofos cannot compute/reconcile a way to gracefully age-up their look or personas (at the very least).
Basically, the whole thing is being a permanent teenager. Problematic as a genre.

Huh, I don't think I've really checked out any of those groups (Johnny Truant, A Textbook Tragedy, or Beecher) .
|
| |
I never really got into coalesce despite trying many times
|
| |
If we get into the mathcore bollocks I also still stand by board up the house and worse than alone

Coalesce are great for a more mid tempo approach to old school metalcore. I've been vibing with them since high school. Speaking of metalcore, I was on a mini Converge kick the other night. They're such a typical choice, I know, but so good. Was watching a great live set of Jane Doe. I think I was vibing with Rorschach and Catharsis before that.

^ Converge transcend the genre, IMO.
|

I saw converge live once they sounded like shit
But yes agreed they hold up
