OG still got a chokehold on me, the more youthful vocals lend themselves better to most of these songs. Very good rendition regardless

I prefer older Dustin’s vocal tone personally, so I guess I’m biased to the re-recording.

I inexplicably just realized this exists. Between that and the announcement of Horizons/West - it's Thrice season babes. Man they fucking rule

Silhouette and Paper Tigers sound great on here.
Unlike the first three track in particular.
Also agree with whomever mentioned that the drums have lost some punch.
The T/T and Stare at the sun remain just as skippable as before, even minus the whiny vocals (-:

Paper Tigers and Abolition of Man are wayy stronger here. Silhouette is definitely weaker, but that track is all about the ferocious energy.

The rerecording feels so pointless. The only thing on it that was superior to the OG was Stare at the Sun imo

I never was kicking and screaming for this to be re-worked because it didn't need it but I am so glad they did. For a shuffle's sake, the make-up of these tracks and recording and granular nature fits so much better with contemporary Thrice (a la tracks live all can co-exist in a similar aesthetical space). So many of the choices outside of recording quality etc are subtle but I love some of the more melodic decision making done on moments here throughout too.
