"Blippy is creepy af. "

Fortunately it was a short phase, she seems to have moved on. The creepiest it got was when he changed himself with a guy that didn't look like him. Trauma worthy stuff.

@TheWatchman71

I feel like they've been in a creative rut and floundering for a bit, especially with the line-up changes, and while this album is in a way more of the same, this feels way more focused. There's a distinct feeling of 'everyone wants to be here' that is palpable and I love it

Time will tell, but I'm loving this album. Easily their best since Night, I can't wait to see where they go from here.

Same here. I gotta put it against DEK, but I'm almost sure it's my favorite since NITND

Considering line up changes, hiatus, side projects and well, aging, I think they are doing pretty much what I expected from them.

I expected this to be City Burials Pt 2, but even more lethargic. I love being proven wrong

I said it on the City Burials thread back in the day but I was hoping that jumping to Napalm Records meant that they were going back to their harder side if only slightly and here we are.

I feel like they only go hard on like 1-2 songs per album these days. I don't blame them, the softer songs are their real gems. But I still appreciate when they go Forsaker or The Parting

yeah I mean, it's not like they gonna go ham at this point, but City Burials lacked that little punch of tracks like Austerity or Birds, so I'm glad they recovered some of the old habits. There's that riff in Colossal Shade that is straight out of TGCD, for example.

yeah City was really low-key and not that memorable. I still enjoyed it but this had more oomph for sure

DEK was a smelly fart in the bottle compared to this. If Fall of Hearts didn't exist, this would indeed be best Katatonia since NITND, comfortably. A lot of great stuff on here.

Strange you can't get into FOH artiswar, there's some pretty poppy stuff in here (Serein, Decima, Shifts) + occasional prog goodness like Takeover.
