Symptoms of a washed up genre

Octane radio rock isn’t really washed up. It’s the money maker right now.

My point exactly.. modern metalcore = washed/bad investment
Butt rock = also bad but infinitely larger market
Just sucks. Feels like they could totally have kept going with their old sound, but also feels like they hit their peak in popularity with it

Problem they have is the bands brain died. Not to take away from everyone else in the band but Tom wrote basically everything. Josh probably just had some suggestions here and there but went with the flow and didnt want to waste sylosis material. Also this is better than the parkway drive album.

That’s such an annoying thing that people keep saying. Holy Hell was a good album and it was released after Toms passing. I don’t like the new stuff either but relax.

Holy hell was made from what he had left over and they built on it. They didnt die, they have shifted direction and honestly they have every reason to shift to a new sound. A crucial part was lost in the Architects machine so they shifted direction and experimented with a poppier sound to make ends meet and probably experiment with broader appeal. They showed with the closer on this they can go heavy again if they want to. While the new stuff is a bit crappy, the bands not dead the band evolved to something else because they had to adapt. Not only from Toms passing but with a surge of bands that where coming out of the woodwork with the exact same sound as Architects they could have been lost in the mess

Yeah the setlist leaves a lot to be desired. He murdered Nihilist as well

yeah fuck that. i get that theyre very very unlikely to play anything off of nightmares or ruin for that matter. but damn at least one hollow crown track would go a long way

Early grave or Follow the water. Either way setlist was pretty underwhelming ontop of Sams voice being shot. Heard the extremely.lazy version of nihilist and skimned to see if it improved but nope

Can't believe they still get paid to release music

Can’t believe they’re getting paid to focus on the worst aspect of Sam’s voice

Yeh they could still write better shit than this but they're just chasing money.
Fuck this band bunch of cunts.

It’s all good either way. It’s not like Sam was going to push any boundaries with his voice, he didn’t try to experiment and wasn’t writing compelling melodies regardless. They’ve always been very good at getting the record recorded. They’re a band that gets things done. They weren’t ever going to expand, they were always going to cement the standard and then entropic decay. Ironic given some of their political lyrics
