Those first two Defeater albums were damn good. Actually haven't thought of them in a while, but see their later offerings didn't garner much love here. Might still check them out.

Really wish Brendan would use those END highs more. Dude fucking nails that shit live.

I hope this stays at a 4.7 at least until it hits 100 votes so that it will show up as #1 on Sput's best albums of all time chart above Wish You Were Here

Jammed those first few Defeater albums recently and they still slay for the most part. And yeah they fell off HARD after that.

These guys are probably my favourite band of all time, but the singing is really killing this album for me. Hoping it grows on me a little

Interestingly he does use them live even when performing for Counterparts, just not in the studio.

4.7 with 64 scores is actually crazy

Truly the Dark Souls of metalcore releases. Flesh is the most vile, punishing flamethrower of a track I've heard in a hot minute and the emotional highs of t/t, Soil II and Mass Grave got me sobbing. Skin is the only one I'm not wowed by but the rest is absurdly good.

Like throwing a fit over people being enthusiastic over a metalcore release that doesn't suck dog ass? Couldn't be me.

Lol.

Anyway, Soil II is so fucking beautiful, I only wish it was longer. I end up repeating it on pretty much every listen.
