A comfy 3.5 atm, the goofy breakdowns bring it down a little bit, but overall i really enjoyed this, might bump later if i feel generous

This would get an extra 0.5 from me if it axed all those goofy ass “hey look at this weird shit I can do to my vocal cords” breakdowns

yea that's a recent trend in some deathcore, they're really trying hard to push for "diversity" in vocals

Good album, but not super memorable. Every song sounds similar from a structural standpoint, aside from Soulless Existence. This is not a bad thing, but at over an hour it does start to get repetitive, and it feels like I have the same song on repeat. If they cut down the runtime to about 45 minutes or so, and trimmed the excess this would flow much better than it does. I am happy for the band's success, and wish them nothing but continued success. Let's hope they don't sell out with forced cleans, and acoustic versions once they get the big bucks haha

"and I guess let the bass player play on the album, because I think they forgot about him."

Gawd yeah, poor guy... I hope that at least he gets paid LOL

XfingTheSullen huge thank you for the Animosity and The Faceless recommendations. They both scratch the deathcore itch perfectly for me and were bands I somehow had not stumbled across yet.

I'll check it out again I just remember hating the guys singing on there and there was too much of it.

I can't take these vocals seriously, especially when he's trying to sound like an alien during the same randomly placed breakdown that's in nearly every song.

no you're right, I've never been big into deathcore or symphonic metal. I had no idea what to expect diving into this though, but it just wasn't my thing. the vocalist is definitely talented, it just sounds like he's auditioning for a voice acting role rather than making music at times.

Maybe cleans like the ones in Chasmal Fires (11:30) by Ethereal Shroud could fit? Heavy reverb ambience stuff.

If you disregard the vocal fuckery, this is definitely in the best quarter in all deathcore albums, it's better than Shadow of Intent's last at least

NGL this ripped so much harder live. Every metalhead should see these guys at least once if they get the chance. I'm not even a huge fan.
