I’ve only heard first four LPs. Why do people hate this band since? What do they sound like? I enjoy those albums so what change was made on Resistance and following albums? Cheers, will read review later and maybe get some answers

Resistance is still their 3rd best album. And whoever said Guiding Light sucks is wrong lol. My biggest guilty pleasure Muse song.
My first pass through this album it felt like an album written by 40 year olds for 20 year olds. I’ve finally given up thinking they’re capable of making fluid albums like OoS and Absolution anymore. I know going in it’ll be a shitshow with highs/lows/and meh moments. There are songs I love & don’t know why…”Will of the People” is a gd bop imo. And Halloween is so over the top absurd I can’t help but dig it. “Won’t Stand Down” is good except for the shit chorus. KOBK is straight up for those who say they don’t write songs like they used to (albeit a bit too obvious they were trying hard to accomplish that). “Ghosts” sucks. I hate whisper moan Matt Bellamy. “Compliance” might honestly be a bottom 5 all time Muse song. I fucking hate it & don’t understand one person that remotely likes it. “Euphoria” is just a pop punk TIRO & it sounds like a last second addition to make it a full LP. “Fucked” coulda been amazing if they just went balls to the wall and made it 4 full minutes like the last minute. “Liberation” is a worse Eurasia.
“Verona” is the highlight. It’s a mix of 2nd Law and ST but better than anything on either and arguably my favorite ballad they’ve done.
Overall, weird ass album. But the more I listen the more I find things I dig.
