Well the zilla may be right, they lost 2 members (one of them a founding member) and the leftovers are barely recognizable as DT members

They just toured a couple of months ago and will be on another tour in November
Chris and Johan are official members of the band. They're nowhere near a hiatus

Yeah, I don't think DT is being put off to the side. I think there would've been some kinda statement from the band if that was gonna happen

I think it would be more likely that this band gets shelved if anything

I expect a follow-up to this, they have already announced plans for it, and it's a passion side project so leaves more room for a fun creative outlet given the band has any free time to write and record. This album was created during the down-time of the pandemic though, and that kind of free time may only come once in a lifetime.

Surprisingly good. Nice retro vibes.

If this band continues, which I don't see why it wouldn't, Mikael can just come in and lay vocals and tour when it's relevant. Probably requires the least amount of time. Even still, DT's output has slowed considerably. These guys are all pretty successful and can always tour off the hits if need be. Don't see it being too much of an issue for him to be in two bands when he seems like a hardworking professional at his job.
Liked the singles off this, gonna jam the whole thing

bumping my rating a bit bc as far as 2020s straightforward melodeath it probably wont get much better than this.. its like they say leave a man without water for too long and he will start drinking his own semen or something idk i've had the word semen in my head all day cuz i was listening to worlds within the margin earlier

Maybe some new blood will enter the scene. This genre is basically the late 90's/2000's version of thrash

Anders will replace Mikael, and Bjorn will replace Niclas on guitar. With the new lineup of Anders Friden, Bjorn Gelotte, Jesper Stromblad, Peter Iwers, and Daniel Svensson, The Halo Effect will release their sophomore album Colony in 2024.

Despite the broken English, the lyrics in that song are awesome. Old in flames lyrics were so cool

"Old in flames lyrics were so cool"
yeah whenever someone mentions how awful their current lyrics are some people are like "omg who cares about melodeath lyrics" but their lyrics used to be a big part of their sound imo
i think lyrics can often make or break an ~ok~ song. like i dont care much for modern DT but i currently have atoma t/t & identical to none on repeat and the lyrics are a big part of why i love them despite being very standard 10s dt formula

I realized both this album and Dark Tranq’s Moment were both mixed by Jens Bogren which makes a lot of sense because they both sound very similar sonically.
