It really is. The first time I heard it, I was exercising on a stationary bike... needless to say, I was pedaling about twice as fast as I normally would

I'll see if I can find a cited source for it, but this is what the wiki article says:
"On 31 May 2022, the band announced on their social media platforms that Arif was leaving the band after 15 years, citing his familial commitments as the reason to retire from the band. Arif's wife Azean also left her management position with the band as well, thus making Hiss Arif's last album with the group. The remaining members intend to continue with the group with Arif and Azean's blessings and support."
Granted, Arif's gonna be a really tough act to follow

'this is indeed great but not as accessible as the normie grind record'
depends on your perspective, it's likely not to be accessible for someone who just wants a good hard pummelling for 30 minutes straight - which I guess is what you're alluding to with the normie grind comment. I've definitely heard harsher grind - this is pretty tame at points and I would imagine could be fairly accessible to people coming from other somewhat adjacent / related genres etc.
'im really diggin the trash riffs and the obscure violin, great work'
the t(h)rash riffs are easily my least favourite element of this

Voiceless Choir is so good uuueeeeah
I love how the vibe gets darker, more experimental, twisted and often beautiful (read melancholic) as you go onto 2nd half
