I need to get addicted, because it is probably deserving
too much 'saving for that perfect moment' nonsense going on in my head right now

That stretch from All You Will Remember to Those Years, Condemned is so fucking good
|
| |
Yeah Cryptkeeper - I just played this through for the first time and it was feeling very 4 and then All You Will Remember came on and upped the game significantly with that epic ending
|
| |
Also the fact I just said ‘feeling very 4’ like that’s a bad thing shows how good these guys are and how much I enjoyed Mire

Having mixed feelings about this. On one hand its production and overall melodic progressions are too modern sounding for me, reminding me of Ne Obliviscaris, which I never really got into. They also got that Melo Doom Death vibe of bands such as Swallow the Sun and Insomnium, yet I would rather listen to those bands for that mood. On the other it's got some very special moments that up the game definitely... Need to give this more spins to have a verdict.

This sounds absolutely nothing like Ne Obliviscaris, or much like Insomnium come to think of it. I’m confused.

yeah not really hearing the comparisons

It's basically like if Insomnium wrote chord progressions like a post-metal band instead of a melodeath band. Like the vocals and general atmosphere are more metal, while the actual melodies strike me as almost post hardcore, just dialed up to 11 in the heaviness department.
Idk if that makes any sense whatsoever. But that quality I'm trying to articulate is the precise reason for why I'm connecting with this SO hard.
