though the album has quality issues, i can listen to each song on here with some enjoyment from it. however, 'Mouai ni Shosu' is the only song on here that is outright terrible and i have to skip it every time. it's not 'values of madness' levels of egregious, but it certainly gives it a run for its money.

Finally checked the bonus blu ray of Phalaris...
Yeah, this is a top-tier Dir show, lots of fantastic stuff. I have one or two nitpicks but the band can be proud of that show, plus mannnn Shinya's drums on that show sound astronomically better than they do on this album.

the bonus is a 5

Yeah, this is closer to 3.7/3.8 than the 4 I’m rating it, and I have to agree, it does sound like the band is more or less going through the motions and there’s really nothing to latch onto, sonically. I want to like this more than I’m feeling it, but everything runs together with little variance and at the end, I’m more sad than disappointed.

Maybe it's just me being a little older but this album didn't grab my attention straight away unlike most DEG releases and idk i really trying to get into this more but listening to songs like Hibiki just make me wanna listen to Aka

Although Otogi is a straight up one of their best tracks just the tiny post-hardcore/emo riffs give me Goosebumps

Dir just released a feedback survey for international fans to fill in: https://forms.gle/sFviL1k945N35jyA8
To those displeased with the production on TIW or this, this is your chance to tell them you want a TIW remaster or for their production jobs to change (or just to put anything you want from them for the future). It does focus on what you want for live shows/fav albums/essentially market research but the option is there.

Thanks for the link Calc, filled this out immediately. Hopefully enough people fill this out to make a difference for future albums

More bands should do this

I could fill it out twice. I told them to keep working with Tue, never crossed my mind to ask for a remaster lol.

Kamui is very good on revisiting this, one of the best. My biggest issue with the past 2 records is the mixing of kyos vocals, they always sound so compressed. If you listen to arche then just to this, the difference is night and day. His vocals are still fantastic, just the mixing feels off to me

I would agree, there's way too much distortion on his voice. Especially on his screams, it's almost annoying at times

New petit album is good but not as good as this

I thought it sucked

i'm so happy this album is out

The new Petit album is...not very good and it sucks to say that, especally since the guitarist and drummer's bands have some fantastic stuff. The bonus Blu Ray show was fun though, so I await an eventual full show where will be heavy as possible with lots of energy.

| |
Oi, and here I was already hesitant about the new Petit because I loved Koku but did nooot like the other two in the single release
