^agreed. It doesn't really change how good the album is, but I feel like that would improve the flow.

Steak said it best. Blemish and Echo and Dust pt. 1 wash this whole album. Doesn't mean the album isn't incredible though, it most certainly is. But the highlights on EB are untouchable.
> I agree, but this is still a 5/5 masterpiece for me. Blemish and Echo and Dust Pt 1 are literally top 5 metal songs for me, so it's basically impossible to beat.

It's been tough to hold in all the hype. All I'll say is that these past few weeks have been incredible.

Yes immensely. I love how this band is basically just a way more melodic ETID. I liked Radical last year, but at times it got a little too samey/screamy and I'd find myself beginning to tune it out. This is like an entire album of Sly and Post-Boredom, which is way more my kind of speed. In A Room Where Everything Dies, A Painful And Necessary Action, Of Snakes and Swans, and The Quiet Shake are my early favorites here.

Admittedly it’s a fool’s errand to compare this to their previous album, which many of us have been listening to for 4 years. I didn’t have expectations for the previous album so it definitely grew on me like crazy with each listen. I was hoping this would be phenomenal, and it surpassed my expectations. Hard to say how this will age for listeners like me
Comparing their albums aside, this is the best Metalcore’ish album I’ve heard in a hot minute. These dudes are primed to blow up relatively soon (hopefully)

Nice to hear you dig this a lot Sowing. I’m a fan of ETID but I also have similar thoughts. These guys have an uncanny ability to write catchy/memorable songs, heavy and soft in tone. It’s pretty unique imo

Good to hear, Sowing. Yeah, I love Radical but I dropped it to 4.5 recently because of its staying power. Think it suffered from being too long. This is a clean 10 tracks with no filler. My favorite type of record.

Tgreenz, I think that is an important thing to say. Empty Black came out of nowhere. This had hype, and the fact that it is this great is magical.

they write the shit out of a chorus, by far the best trait these guys have

That moment when the clean vocal kick in on “A Painful and Nec…” gives me chills every time. It’s beautiful
Hard to pick a favorite track right now, but I’ll go with… same song in just referenced above

Yeah I can’t pick a favorite chorus. Between this and their last album there is one chorus that isn’t top-tier for me

I only jammed All Candy once when it released and then heard nothing until my first spin of the album Thursday night, so I'm built different

The fact that All Candy was the first single is pretty funny to me in hindsight lol…. I honestly didn’t even care about it enough to keep listening to it

Surprised there's a ton of mehs here, even more surprised by the kneejerk "def better than EB" sentiment. EB was prob my most listened to album of that year and this one is right in that league after a few listens. It's more Greyhaven, not a huge shift in any direction, and like no clunkers (I dig All Candy!).
