Idk about generic but I’m not really a fan of the overall aesthetic and not a lot of the parts really stood out to me. There was some neat lead work here and there but blackened death metal stuff like this hardly ever hits for me

Agree with almost everything mentioned in here. I'm pretty new to these guys still, but this album felt less immediate compared to the debut and I also agree that the second half is where things really come to life. Still marginally prefer Rot over this, but that may change over time.

This is very overhyped everywhere, so I tried to like it and listened to it several times before I decided to give my controversial opinion. So here it goes... it's a bit too soft around the edges. Too much melodic prog and not enough death mmoments. It's listenable, but soft metal gets annoying fast.
