This new album brings all the best qualities from UO old albums back! So glad they sound like old Underoath! Very well written lyrically and musically! I have been listening to UO since A Changing of Times Album with Dallas Taylor, this album lived up to the hype! I am pretty sure i'm out of luck and have no friends 2:01 is epic! Underoath is back if you don't like this album you were born in the 2000s.

I think it was supposed to say, if you DO like this you were born in the 2000's. This feels like some zoomer ass take on Underoath, except the dudes doing it are almost in their 40's now.
|
| |
impressed the lyrics on this are somehow cringier than those on their first album

Ima be honest I've never thought Underoath lyrics were anything special beyond the classic one-liners on Define The Great Line.

Post-hardcore wise lyrically this is passable I'd say. I'm still undecided about this, there are some parts where it is really enjoyable but I'll have to give it another couple of spins to decide if the rest is just dull or I'm the one not paying enough attention.

they've never been a standout for me either

Yeah Disambiguation is the only one where I really pay any attention to the lyrics, especially on LITSOS them being divided between songs about the end of the world (that are methaphorically about Spencer's drug problems) and then songs that are just literally about Spencer's drug problens nakes it feel quite disjointed. Still an amazing album though

Agree, Disam is the best lyrically. The others are okay, not great. Erase Me and this one are pretty outright bad lyrically though.

could you repeat that willy? i didn't quite catch it the first two times
|

I'll be keeping an eye out on their setlists, I guess now they have new and slightly improved songs, they'll only be playing the new songs and some classics probably ignoring "Erase Me" cuts completely. And rightfully so. That was a low point of the post hardcore scene as a whole
