He pretty much shreds through the beginning of Viscera and sweats his pants on Lord of Liars but this is not his usual speed agree. On the other hand, he shows he can provide the song with a solid base without going on top and believe me, there's art in that.

I really respect Converge's willingness to experiment and broaden their sound as a whole. A lot of people seem to kind of hate that about them, but ever since AtF onwards, they've been writing their most solid material imo. Their more experimental songs are the ones I usually gravitate towards, like the dusk in us, wretched world, cruel bloom, etc

This album really expands on a side of them I always loved. But honestly the real hero of this record for me is Chelsea Wolfe. Her melodies man ...
