This seems moderately more lively than their previous stuff but my god I am so bored by how binary this band's sound is. It's either wall of sound heaviness or floaty ambient pads with reverb-drowned vocals. There's no dynamic range in between and it makes every track feel like a formula. "Here's the hevy part. Here's the quiet part. They exist in two different silos."

Their music also feels deathly self-serious in a way that I just kind of cringe at.

As much as I like this band, that’s actually very accurate a take haha

progcore + ambience = snoozefest imo and this album is no different. Having said that, the screaming vocals on this are superb.

Yeah this sounds distinct enough from other albums like TNGS or EWS. I say they do a pretty good job switching things up

Call me crazy but I feel a lot of progcore comes off that way. IA is no different. I swear IA uses the exact same synth on every album every single time the quiet ambient part hits. Listen to the instrumental versions of say Dark and Midnight Hymn (honestly you could pick almost any track you want) and tell me I'm wrong. With that said they are still among the easiest 5.0's I've ever gave out, so whatever. If it's good it's good.
