my overall point isnt that anyone is necessarily wrong. yeah, overpopulation is a myth, but, again, this is a gothic symphonic metal album from a band named cradle of filth. the whole "the universe is gonna kill us off because of our transgressions" is a theme as old as metal itself. i genuinely dont think the point was anything other than being arch and evil, just like this band has literally always done.

Agree with Hyperion.
We have concept albums about Countess Bathory bathing in human blood to stay young, Gilles De Rais raping and murdering children for magic powers, the rise of Satan in DAAD, etc.
If it sounds ‘fucking brutal’ to quote the song in question, Dani’s gonna shriek about it and I’m probably gonna dig the song.

@frost - "overpopulation leads to worse urbanisation, industry and energy practices" I think this is possibly a case of cart before the horse. urbanisation and industry, especially nowadays, are foundational for populations to move into an area. overpopulation usually comes after the infrastructure is supplied
